Production Planner

The Production Planner undertakes assignments relating to the planning and scheduling of production operations, methods and/or processes to meet all internal and external customer requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Conduit between shop/engineering/customer service
Reviewing trends of completed orders using lean tools for improvements
Create production order from MRP demand
Working with team members on lead time estimates to meet external customer needs
Review MRP data- running reports
Work with inventory control and procurement on stocking levels and requirements
Maintain planning tools as needed
Variance checking of delivered production orders
Communicating and working closely with Sales/Customer Service, Design/Engineering, Procurement, Quality and the Manufacturing staff
Must know Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and technical procedures and work instructions as it applies to the position.
Essential Skills
Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) accreditation or other relevant certification is advantageous
1-3 years manufacturing experience in a production planning role, preferably in metal fabrication
Vocational/Technical degree or equivalent preferred
Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and related software.
Good written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Basic Computer Skills including Microsoft® Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic SAP
Must know Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and technical procedures and work instructions as it applies to the position
